Amboseli National Park offers picturesque views of snowcapped Mount Kilimanjaro and it is one of the best places in the continent to see free ranging elephants up-close. Then you get to visit Tsavo West National Park for 1 night. Tsavo West National Park has many geo-physical attractions including Mzima Springs, where you can see hippos and fish in a crystalline clear water of one of the greatest wildlife conservancies. You then proceed for 2 nights to Tsavo East National Park well known on earth for its enormous Red Elephants and the legend of the Maneaters of Tsavo.

Day 1: Nairobi to Amboseli National Park

Pick up from your place of residence or your Nairobi hotel at 7 am and drive south to Amboseli National Park via Mombasa road arriving at Kibo Safari Luxury Camp in time for lunch. After lunch at camp embark on a full afternoon Kenya safari in Amboseli National Park (at 392 square kilometer). The park is the second most popular park in the country after the Maasai Mara, mainly due to the spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro on the southern boundary. Dinner and overnight Kibo Safari Luxury Camp.

Day 2: Amboseli National Park Full Day Kenya Safari

You will spend the full day in Amboseli National Park with early morning and evening game drives. Amboseli offers a wide range of habitats here ranging from the dried-up bed of Lake Amboseli, wetlands with sulphur springs, the savannah and woodlands. The park is also host to all the Big Five (lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino and elephant). We visit Observation Hill which allows an overall view of the entire park especially the swamps and elephants. The swamps hosts many wild animals such as, buffalos, hippos and a variety of water fowls like pelican, crakes and Egyptian goose.

Day 3: Amboseli National Park to Tsavo West National Park

After an early breakfast depart for Tsavo West National Park which lies roughly half way between Nairobi and the Coast. Mzima Springs, the chief marvel here is a favorite haunt of hippos and Nile crocodiles. The spring gushes more than 50 million gallons (190 million liters) a day of crystal clear water and are the source of Mombasa’s water. Arrive at Salt Lick Safari Lodge or similar in time for lunch. Later embark on an early evening Kenya safari to see large herds of elephants, buffalo, common waterbuck, eland, rhino and wide variety of antelope. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Dinner and overnight Taita Hills Game Lodge.

Day 4: Tsavo West National Park to Tsavo East National Park

We depart the lodge soon after breakfast and proceed to Tsavo East National park. Game is viewed as we exit the park. This park was famed for its large herds of elephant covered in red dust and fine scenery. We visit the scenic Lugards Falls, Mudanda Rocks (attracts elephants in the drier season) and Aruba Dam as we view game if time permits. Dinner and overnight Ashnil Aruba Game Lodge.

Day 5: Tsavo East National Park

Full day spent exploring the Tsavo East National Park. Morning and afternoon game drives are offered. The landscape in Tsavo East is flatter and drier, despite having one of Kenya’s largest rivers, the Galana River flowing through the middle. Much of the wildlife is concentrated on the river, which has plentiful Nile crocodiles and hippos. Likewise, Kudus, waterbucks, reedbucks, and dik-diks are common along the river banks.

Tsavo National Park, a safari lover’s paradise, is the birthplace of the Tsavo Man-eaters tale, a story of fearsome roars from the late 1890s when the Mombasa-Nairobi Railway was being built. Back then the railway line was known as the lunatic express and the lions were responsible for the deaths of dozens of construction workers when a bridge was being constructed over the Tsavo River. Today that railway runs parallel to the more recent Standard Gage Railway (SCR) connecting Mombasa to Nairobi.  Dinner and overnight Ashnil Aruba Game Lodge.

Day 6: Tsavo East National Park – Mombasa

Early morning Kenya safari in Tsavo East National Park. Soon after breakfast we proceed to Mombasa or back Nairobi.
