Nairobi – Lake Nakuru National Park – Day 1

Pick up from your Nairobi hotel and depart by road through the Great Rift Valley, stopping to take in views at the viewpoint to Lake Nakuru National park. Enjoy lunch at the Sopa lodge overlooking Lake Nakuru. Afternoon enjoy Kenya safari in this park known for its prolific birdlife including greater and lesser flamingoes and other terrestrial birds like pelicans and cormorants. The park has a sanctuary for the conservation of endangered White Rhinos while species like Cape buffalos, zebras and reedbuck can be seen near the shoreline. Dinner and overnight at the Lake Nakuru lodge or Similar.

Lake Nakuru National Park – Lake Naivasha National Park – Day 2

Early breakfast before departing Lake Nakuru National Park for Lake Naivasha with morning Kenya safari in search of the resident wildlife which includes Rothchild’s giraffe and colobus monkeys. You will drive to arrive at Naivasha Sopa lodge in time for lunch. Enjoy an afternoon boat ride on this Great Rift Valley fresh water lake to the Crescent Island. During the scenic boat ride you will be able to spot many species of birds as well as hippos sloshing in water. Return for dinner and overnight at the Naivasha Kongoni Lodge or Similar.

Lake Naivasha National Park – Masai Mara National Reserve – Day 3

Breakfast at Lake Naivasha Sopa lodge. For those who wish to visit the Hell’s Gate National Park, they will be able to do so after breakfast. Hell’s Gate National Park offers excellent climbing and hiking opportunities and enables you to explore on foot or bicycle. It is one of the few parks in Kenya that allows camping. Together with extinct volcanoes, cliffs, gorges and obsidian caves, Geothermal features here include hot springs and natural geysers hissing steam through vents in the earth’s crust.

The park also protects a wide variety of wildlife, including leopards, eland, ostrich, gazelle and more than 100 species of birds. Olkaria Geothermal Station lies within the park. It generates power from heated, pressurized water underground and is the first of its kind in Africa.

Drive to the Masai Mara National Park (roughly 4.5 hours) with scenic views of the Masai savannah grassland arriving at the game lodge in time for lunch. You will freshen up and relax at the pool then later proceed on a sunset Kenya safari. Dinner and overnight at Mara AA Lodge or Similar

Masai Mara Full day Kenya Safari – Migration watch – Day 4

You will take an early morning balloon safari over the Mara followed by Champaign breakfast under an Acacia tree (this optional activity cost USD $450 extra) or a Kenya safari followed by breakfast at the lodge. The rest of the morning will be at leisure. After lunch enjoy an afternoon Kenya safari.

If your African safari tour coincides with the Great Migration – between July and October, you will be able to see as over 1.5 gnus, zebras and Thompson’s gazelle migrate from Tanzania’s Serengeti in to the Masai Mara following the rains. River crossings are always dramatic as the migrating herd tries to cross the crocodile infested Mara River.

Masai Mara Full day Kenya safari – Day 5

After breakfast proceed on a full day of Kenya safari in the Masai Mara National Reserve. The Masai Mara is Kenya’s premiere wildlife park and its home to numerous wildlife including zebras, cheetahs, wild-dogs, giraffes as well as the Big Five animals of Africa – buffalos, elephanat, rhino, leopards and lions. More than 600 terrestrial and migratory species of birds have been recorded here including Red-necked spurfowl, Squacco heron, and African fish eagle. Later in the day we break for picnic lunch at the hippo pool, looking out for hippos and crocodiles. Dinner and overnight at Mara AA Lodge or Similar.

Masai Mara National Reserve – Nairobi – Day 6

After breakfast we embark on our final Kenya safari in the Masai Mara then drive back to Nairobi arriving late afternoon. Drop off at your Nairobi hotel or the airport.
